Alberta is a province in central, western Canada and one of only two landlocked provinces in the entire country. It's home to two major metro areas (and friendly rivals) Edmonton and Calgary, as well as numerous other smaller cities.
In Alberta, sweeping plains of prairie and forestland are the norm, although the western side of the province includes part of the Rocky Mountains. You'll also find the majority of Canada's oil and gas exploration and production in this province.
