This South Dallas shipping container home combines minimalism with luxury right in the heart of the city. Just a few miles southeast of downtown, this container home is set in the neighborhood that surrounds Fair Park. It’s part of a wave of reinvestment in the area that is improving historically neglected parts of South Dallas.
The home is immediately adjacent to the Lincoln Magnet High School, as well as walking distance to several parks. It’s also only about 1.5 miles from a DART light rail station.
As far as the design of the home, it’s the exact same as another South Dallas home we’ve profiled: the Reed Lane Container Home. It appears the same developers and builders worked on both given the floorplans and interior details. You can read that project entry to learn more about the idea behind this home and how it was built.
Some might think this home is expensive for it’s size (it was last listed at $200,000), but when you you remember you’re getting a brand-new home with high-quality finishes on a large lot close to the city center, the deal starts to sound more compelling.
And with development projects large and small coming to the area (the S.M. Wright Parkway is one example, or slight further away, the Southern Gateway Park), this home should appreciate in value.
