Evans Container Home

Description

Seven shipping containers are combined with exterior cladding to create this lovely two-story house. Unlike a lot of container homes, the cladding really helps this home blend in with the neighborhood’s other structures.

The exterior still certainly has a modern appearance with a few bright-colored accents, but overall the design is subdued compared to some of the bold container buildings we sometimes see. Still, there is no denying the boxy, clean lines, and color variations that make this home special without being obnoxious.

Inside, this beautiful home features a spacious living area, a quality kitchen fitted with stainless steel appliances, and an island table that makes it a perfect fit for any family occasion. The second floor holds the master bedroom and bathroom, and there’s also a scenic deck to walk out onto on warmer days.

The entire house’s interior has the industrial style you might expect for a container, including a polished floor and numerous examples of exposed corrugated walls. The owners deliberately chose to highlight the bumps and bruises their used containers picked up along their journeys around the earth.

And if the space provided by the container isn’t enough, there’s also a huge basement area for additional living and storage space. This home is a really great example of taking the best of shipping container construction, combining it with touches of conventional buildings, and blending the two into a home that is livable, unique, and yet not going to cause any heartache for your less architecturally interested neighbors.

i would like to know cost of this project.

    1. You’d have to get in touch with the owners to try to arrange a visit, unfortunately, we don’t have any information about the current owners. We also don’t have exact cost information, you’d need to contact the owners or designer for that. However, our container home cost calculator can give you a rough idea of cost: https://www.discovercontainers.com/cost-calculator/
