The Portable Cabin in Poznań, Poland has been well received by people from all over the world. But as a private residence, it has always been off-limits to those who wish to experience it for themselves.
However, just a short stroll away are three cabins built in a similar style to the original Portable Cabin. And in addition to the common architectural aesthetic, they also share the same beautiful building site: a riverfront community garden inside the city.
Assuming you’ve already read our article on the Poznań Portable Cabin, you’ll instantly recognize these three cabins as being kindred spirits. While there are some important differences to note, they do look quite similar.
Let’s start with size. Each of these three cabins is made with two 20-foot shipping containers placed side by side, creating a gross floor area of 16 feet by 20 feet. Due to the small size, these are effectively one-room studio cabins.
The floor plans are dominated by a large living, dining, and sleeping area. This space is adjacent to the patio in front of each cabin, accessed by huge floor-to-ceiling windows and doors placed at the ends of the containers.
Each cabin has a slight variation in interior color and furniture layout, but otherwise are nearly equivalent. All of them have access to the scenic river-side grounds and numerous outdoor amenities.
