A container hunting cabin set on 1000 acres of pristine California wilderness. This home is built from two 40ft shipping containers joined together. The cabin’s idyllic location is next to an old creek bed with amazing sunset views of the surroundings. In contrast to some luxury container home designs these days, this cabin was meant to offer the basics and keep the focus on the picture-perfect setting.
One of the coolest features of this cabin is it’s completely off the grid and can be locked up tight when not in use. For power, an array of solar panels is installed on the roof, but the home uses propane for most of its lighting and heating needs. For water, the adjacent creek is used. The flooring and walls are built from reclaimed wood.
The compact interior of the cabin is sparsely furnished with a small lounge, a steel kitchenette, and one bedroom with a large window that offers incredible views of the landscape. Two sliding doors on either side of the home roll open on casters. This gives an open-living vibe to the cabin.
The large windows of the cabin make the space cozy and scenic. This compact container cabin right in the shadow of Mount Lassen is as beautiful as it is simple.
