Sheridan Container House

Description

This fully customized, artistic shipping container home is located within Old North St. Louis, Missouri. The cozy home’s interior and exterior designs clearly set it apart from the rest of the neighborhood, and its prominent location on a corner lot makes it stand out even further.

It was built with nine 40ft shipping containers that are cantilevered on the 2nd and 3rd levels. This creates covered parking on the ground level and a covered porch on the 2nd level. However, both sides of the home have a flat elevation, making the perfect location for the street-facing mural from artist Robert Amador.

The home has a spacious, open-concept kitchen and dining area giving plenty of room to entertain guests. The main living room is filled with colorful patterns and additions that echo the design aesthetic of their neighbor across town (and inspiration), the Smithey Container House.

The master suite located on the second floor has a floating bed courtesy of the Smitheys and a large front view deck perfect for relaxation. This gorgeous house also features a large skylit bathroom with a variety of live plants placed on the metal walls, which is a fun, green touch juxtaposed against the industrial metal of the container walls.

Among other surprising features is a curated third-floor art gallery. Basically, if you can ever stop staring at the unique shape of the outside, you’ll get sucked into admiring all the art and artistic touches on the inside.

    1. Unfortunately, we don’t have building plans to share. You can probably come up with a rough floor plan just by examining the pictures, then have an architect or draftsman formalize them into actual plans if you wanted.
